Strobist with my Aufa Amani

A day with my girl in my home. Strobist using a cheaper lighting gear. I've always sought out the "easiest to use" cost effective lighting I could find. I've never been impressed with photographers showing a "gazillion" dollars worth of gear to shoot a portrait.

Why start with just one light? Because you can get amazing portraits, that’s why. Did I mention less equipment, less complication, less cost, and less time? Oh, and once you’ve mastered portraits with a single light, using more lights is pure gravy.

Kapitan Tandoori House

Kapitan TH is a very famous Indian restaurant chain within Penang. Some even believe that this restaurant serves the best Indian cuisine in Penang, especially their significant dishes, which are Tandoori chicken with Naan and chicken Briyani.
For the Briyani, the most famous one should be the chicken Briyani. Usually the rice will be cooked until it is in golden hue but not too oily. The rice that flavored with many spices is serve in a claypot and comes with a light curry gravy. The marinated chicken laid on top of the rice had thick ginger smell and served together with their home-made mayonnaise sauce. Many customers found that the portion of Briyani is quite generous and relatively satisfying.
Other than these, their menu is quite extensive too, which offers various conventional Indian foods like different kinds of roti canai, Naan, Briyani, curries and others. Besides than these ala-carte dishes, Restauran Kapitan also serves plenty of ready cooked dishes with reasonable price. One other very famous drink of this restaurant is the Badam Milk (Almond Milk), which is a kind of cow milk boiled with grinded almod, cashew, nuts and raisin. The boiled raisins and cashew buts adds flavor to this soothing drink, which makes it an wholesome drink.

The Whispering Auction Of Kuala Muda

A one of a kind auction takes place at the fish market wholesale market of Kuala Muda, Kedah each morning. Boats of all sizes return with their catch and land on the beachhead next to the market. Crew then pick the catch off the nets and sort them out by type, size and value.

The batches of fish, prawns and other seafood are then brought to the auction floor and placed in plain view of potential buyers. Interested buyers then approach the seller and whispers discreetly the offer price for the lot on sale. The seller collects several bid via this whispering manner and then points to the bidder that has offered the highest. No one knows what the other has offered and the winner wins fair and square.

I think that this spectacle is unique and no other fish auction operates this secretively. This is the first time have seen buyers & sellers whispering to each other.

The tsunami wrecked considerable havoc on the fishing community of Kuala Muda.Homes & means of earning livelyhoods were lost. In fact houses on both sides of the coast road leading to Kuala Muda were obliterated by the wave and many are still rubble today. The entire Jetty and Fish Market were also swept away and they auction the fish under a makeshift tent today while a new permanent structure is being built.

Creative With Your 50mm

In photographybokeh (pronounced /boʊ'kɛ/) is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light." Differences in lens aberrations and aperture shape cause some lens designs to blur the image in a way that is pleasing to the eye, while others produce blurring that is unpleasant or distracting—"good" and "bad" bokeh, respectively. Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field. Photographers sometimes deliberately use a shallow focus technique to create images with prominent out-of-focus regions.
Bokeh is often most visible around small background highlights, such as specular reflections and light sources, which is why it is often associated with such areas. However, bokeh is not limited to highlights, as blur occurs in all out-of-focus regions of the image.

The term comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze", or boke-aji (ボケ味), the "blur quality". The Japanese term boke is also used in the sense of a mental haze or senility.
The English spelling bokeh was popularized in 1997 in Photo Techniques magazine, when Mike Johnston, the editor at the time, commissioned three papers on the topic for the March/April 1997 issue; he altered the spelling to suggest the correct pronunciation to English speakers, saying "it is properly pronounced with bo as in bone and ke as in Kenneth, with equal stress on either syllable". Bokeh replaced the previous spelling boke that had been in use at least since 1996, when Merklinger had also suggested "or Bokeh if you prefer."
The term bokeh has appeared in photography books at least since 1998. It is sometimes pronounced /ˈboʊkə/ (boke-uh).

With large aperture, you'll get a great bokeh

The depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears acceptably sharp in the image

Creative Lighting (Gurney Hotel)

Lighting or illumination is the deliberate application of light to achieve some aesthetic or practical effect. Lighting includes use of both artificial light sources such as lamps and natural illumination of interiors from daylightDaylighting (through windows, skylights, etc.) is often used as the main source of light during daytime in buildings given its low cost. Artificial lighting represents a major component of energy consumption, accounting for a significant part of all energy consumed worldwide. Artificial lighting is most commonly provided today by electric lights, but gas lightingcandles, or oil lamps were used in the past, and still are used in certain situations. Proper lighting can enhance task performance or aesthetics, while there can be energy wastage and adverse health effects of poorly designed lighting. Indoor lighting is a form of fixture or furnishing, and a key part ofinterior design. Lighting can also be an intrinsic component of landscaping.
